I use some old tournament models for inspiration, as some supervisors really are creative and think of materials and ways to assemble them that might have eluded me.

Re: SciolyDex - A Fresh, New, Professional Test Trading Firm
When I did Game On I really never looked at past tests, we would just shout to the rest of the team to say a random topic (we like chose for ourselves the game type based on what we needed practice in at the time) - Yale and Princeton both had disappointingly boring game types, and idk if test sets we traded for even included Game On game type suggestions.Name wrote:Fermi Fast Facts, and to some extent Game on can be included. Re: SciolyDex - A Fresh, New, Professional Test Trading Firm
This is a bit late and I stopped checking the forums seemingly just before this "trading" business blew up, but I just have to ask:
Why the heck are people scamming people of Science Olympiad tests!? I mean, I've traded virtual items worth a hefty lot, so I know there can be value in digital items. But trading on Scioly tests??? Is there a way to actually convert tests/resources to cash, or do these people just not have anything better to do?
edits: punctuation and putting this here

It's the latter, and the reason is that people will do anything it takes to win against their opponents. I definitely know Random is the kind of person who encourages this kind of behavior.Zioly wrote:This is a bit late and I stopped checking the forums seemingly just before this "trading" business blew up, but I just have to ask:

*Anything it takes to win against they opponents except study (in some cases). I think people think that just taking more tests will eventually major you the best but there's a lot of information out there not covered in any prior tests...whythelongface wrote:It's the latter, and the reason is that people will do anything it takes to win against their opponents. Yeah, I study for several weeks before even attempting practice tests.knottingpurple wrote:*Anything it takes to win against they opponents except study (in some cases). Re: SciolyDex - A Fresh, New, Professional Test Trading Firm
I'm curious, is there any money or compensation involved in this in any way? Or is it truly just trading resources? Calling it a 'firm' leads me to believe there is some sort of business aspect of it.....SciOlyDex wrote: SciolyDex is a professional, efficient trading firm ....

Re: SciolyDex - A Fresh, New, Professional Test Trading Firm
I highly doubt it, but he probably used the word "firm" to make it sound appealing for people to join?
If it's money though... that's REALLY not something he/she should do.
