Balancing sides/rubber bands

How are you all balancing the rubber bands on each side? My partner and I have a working helicopter (FF kit) but have some difficulty having it fly straight up. Since there are two rubber bands we've been brainstorming on how to keep the rubber bands equal. Usually when it goes up it will not fly straight until after a few seconds maybe. Ideas?

Try winding on a torque meter. You might also try a small it of dewind. Also check the pitch of each blade on both rotors to make sure that they are equal.

What are the rubber motors launch torque. Above a certain launch torque (slightly different for each heli) most Helis will exhibit erratic flight character.

So far at least for us, we've been doing a torque at around 50-60 ish and it has helped a bit, but our flights are still not consistent

You might want to try over winding a bit more and then dewinding to the desired torque.
Since it straightens out after a few seconds, do you have huge knots more on one side than the other?

That's what we tried at first. We did higher torques, realized it was probably too high, and gradually went down. However, sometimes it still does not fly straight up. We also let the helicopter dewind a bit before completely releasing it but because of that we lose a ton of winds.

What was your balance issue and how did you fix it if you don't mind me asking?

My motor stick was imbalanced. I simply fixed it with some clay . Check the weight of your rotors and rubber bands, too!
