Team Usergroup Leader Abilities

Post by Phenylethylamine »

What "powers" does being the leader of your team's usergroup give you, apart from adding people to that usergroup? It would be very useful to me to be able to sticky topics in my team forum, and I'm not sure if it's possible or, if so, how I'd go about it.

That's it. All the group leader can do is change who can see the forum (and other group settings that, if they change, they stop being group leader).

It is definitely possible to give out limited moderation abilities, but it seems like more trouble than it is worth. Also, only one of the 20-some team forums even has a second page of topics...

It's true that there are hardly any topics in my team forum, so yes, a sticky is hardly necessary; still, it would be nice to be able to direct my team members' attention to a specific topic. In the long term, it could be very useful (because otherwise, nobody is really moderating each individual team forum, and they could get messy).

What if a school wants to be a group, but they already have a forum page on a separate site? Our school almost has enough users for a group, and I would like to get one together even if we don't necessarily have a team forum.

Okay, I'll make one last attempt at this...

My team page has 12 threads on it. 10 of them deal with things about 2009 nationals or earlier in the season. Can we go through and delete stuff so as to start the 2010 season clean?
