I meant like identification of the pathogen or visible symptoms. I assumed that the type of pathogen causing the disease would already be on most notesheets already. If you don't have it, ADD IT.

Oh, trust me I've got THAT. The students before me were wise enough to include something like pathogens. (Whew!)

Can anyone tell me a breakdown of all the topics that were on the national test? Apparently, copies have been released but they're in a weird format so I can't really see them, I would really appreciate if someone has the copy itself but if not then what was on the national test and also any predictions.

I don't remember what was on it very well, but I do remember that it was the difficulty of the Princeton/SOUP tests, so take a look at those if you want to get a better clue.

There's a Gram stain involved as well but my partner did that section while I answered questions on the written test.

I've seen some questions on extremophiles and thermopiles on many tests before. IMO, it's best to have all of them on your notesheet.

You know, that's a really good point, and I've been wondering about it myself for some time. Maybe it doesn't directly integrate its DNA into the host genome, but transcribes an RNA copy first from one of the strands and is then reverse transcribed into DNA, which is integrated? That wouldn't make sense though, because that's like an extra step that achieves nothing...

I have used wikipedia almost exclusively for microbe mission tbh. That'll get some hate, but wikipedia entries are extremely extensive for most biology topics. For microscopy in particular, I recommend Microscopy U (run by Nikon). There are also some great textbooks out there that others will recommend in the following posts, I'm sure. (Merge will recommend a textbook in 3, 2, 1...)
