Re: Roller Coaster B
This was a state event in Texas last year, But the gap bonus was 2.5 not 5 like this year. Last year everyone went low and slow and ignored the gap bonus.

Re: Roller Coaster B
Jumps are going to be very important this year. Since they're worth 5 points for every cm wide the gap is (assuming that it's over 5 cm wide), you can get more points for jumps than all other ways combined.

Re: Roller Coaster B
The event calls for "a vehicle (i.e., a ball or sphere)" to be used on the track. Are there any restrictions regarding the vehicle i.e. holes in the ball, shape of ball, etc... For example, could an oblate spheroid be used as it is a sphere. Or is the composition of the sphere itself restricted or not amenable to modification in any way permitted?

What does it mean in the manual? '(in 5s intervals for regional, 2s intervals for states, and 1s intervals for national tournaments)'

Re: Roller Coaster B
The preceding statement should set two bounds - e.g. 20s and 40s (I don't remember what the exact bounds are for Roller Coaster). What this means is thatJionPark wrote:What does it mean in the manual? '(in 5s intervals for regional, 2s intervals for states, and 1s intervals for national tournaments)'
- At Regionals the target time can be 20s, 25s, 30s, 35s, or 40s.
- At state, 20s, 22s, 24s,..., 40s.
- And at Nationals, 20s, 21s, 22s,..., 40s.

Re: Roller Coaster B
Gaps are counted if tracks are horizontal.... Is it considered as a gap if one track was top of another track but it was centimeters away from it?
