What's the difference between resolution and magnification?
Resolution is about separation distance. It is the ability to differentiate between two distinct points that are close to one another. High resolution instruments can differentiate between two close points better than low resolution instruments. Magnification is just about producing larger images of smaller areas. Instruments with higher magnifications can produce larger images from an area of set size than lower magnification instruments.
