My medal prospects are bleak for this year, being a freshman and starting late and everything. But who says I can't have fun trying.

Yeah, but you have a history of working insanely hard, so I'm sure you'll do great.

And no, I'm not a guy...even though my sig says will robsinson. It's a reference to Lost in Space, an ancient sci fi TV show. And the robot is the character who always says the line.

This year I hope to get a bunch more medals at states, but our chances of making nationals are limited... so I might not get another chance to get national medals while still in B division.
Why would you say that your chances of making nationals are limited? I would give you better than even odds.
Well, as pjgscioisamazing said, we do have a tendency to say that our current team is weaker than our team from the previous year, because we already know how good the kids we lost are, and we don't know yet how good our new members are or how much the people from the year before have improved.
That being said, I posted the "chances of making nationals are limited" in a fit of post-Regionals pessimism, so at this point I'd have to say I agree with you.

lol we're often a little too dismissive of the new 7th graders, but when we just ignore them and don't give them any events or anything, they just quit SciO- and then we're screwed for the next year (that happened to some extent last year, and so we don't have as many 8th graders this year as usual...).

we are not worried about new 6th graders, just the next year because one of our elemantary schools has apparently some, well, not scioly oriented i'll say students.

But luckily this year, we got some good 7th graders. We just gotta make sure they stick with it and continue to grow in their academic knowledge.

We have incredible 6th graders this year, so I'm not worried for the next few years. *wipes sweat dramatically off brow*

I'm glad the prospects were getting a little bleak if you know what I mean, we had 15 8th graders last year or something :| and like 6 7th Graders :|.
