Adding to that, Disease Detectives is one of a few events where the resources on the national website is sufficient to get first place almost anywhere. In particular the CDC textbook is what most good tests are based around and is a very good place to start.

I honestly recommend taking as many practice tests as you can. I got first in my regional because I was the only one to take the practice test that the test pretty much copied for the multiple choice.

I second that. Practice tests are the best way to study for this event- it's really a learning by doing event. Lots of brain-rewiring is required.

I was looking at the rules this year and noticed that it say we can now bring two of "calculators of any type
dedicated to computation." Does this mean we can bring programmable calculators now?
