stop spreading misinformation

If our team number was in the later half Game On would have been in the morning which would have been far more preferable

the PA schedule is hot garbage though, I feel bad for you guys :/ especially releasing it this late

See, I can understand the PA schedule being different from the nationals schedule in order to be able to reuse rooms: use a room for one event in the morning and one event in the evening. However, giving teams different conflicts based on team numbers seems far too preventable for it to be an issue. I am not sure who personally is in charge of making the schedule, but I tend to agree that it could use improvement.

When I see the Pennsylvania schedule it just makes me angry. The only conflict they have that matches the national schedule is Hydro with Mat. Sci. It would be hard to make a worse schedule if they tried. OK, they did make Optics and Wind Power self-scheduling.

Even if all of those are room restrictions and/or event supervisor restrictions -- which is hard to believe -- there is still no reason not to line up the team numbers for Chem Lab and Dyn Planet and also Astro and Game On, other than incompetence, or they just don't care. I mean, it's not like PA is a podunk state with respect to Science Olympiad. It just makes me angry.

Although it is pretty annoying that they don't line schedules up, it's not like this is anything new. AFAIK Pennsylvania never follows the Nationals schedule, and always has the weird Disease conflict, at least in recent years. This point has also been brought up other places on this site, and a lot of the discussion comes down to the point that lining up schedules will only really benefit a small handful of teams, so the tournament should run the events in whatever way is easiest for them.

Of course, I still think it's totally unfair to give teams different event conflicts, but at least this year they released the schedule early so we at least had options to plan around. It's still better than getting the first look at the schedule one month before the tournament last year.

OK, I see their point, even if I don't agree with it. But, the number of invitationals is growing, and more teams are attending them. It's going to become an increasing problem.

Franklin Regional C got 2nd and Norwin C got 3rd; there was a scoring mix-up and Franklin Regional C won by the tie-breaker (number of 1st places).

Were there any other impacts on the scores overall?

Shadyside C did much better than 78 points. In Game On, for some reason they were accidentally disqualified - they actually medalled (which is why Norwin got 1 less point in the first place). Shadyside C got approx 55 - 57 points.
