also can someone help me with this question?
A power plant in Chicago is generating 900 MW on a 700 KV line. Assuming the line
is 100 kilometers long, with a resistance along the line of 0.2 ohms, what is the current along the lines

When I use I=V/R I get 3500kA but when I use I=P/V I get 1286 A
Do you have the exact wording of the question? That seems like a question about voltage drop.

Here is the test in question:
https://scioly.org/wiki/images/8/83/Win ... SSSS16.pdf

And here is the answer key (which has issues on #4 and #19 BTW):
https://scioly.org/wiki/images/e/e0/Win ... SSSS16.pdf

This is the full question:
The test wrote: 5. A power plant in Chicago is generating 900 MW on a 700 KV line. Assuming the line
is 100 kilometers long, with a resistance along the line of 0.2 ohms: (5 pts)
A: What is the current flowing along the line?
B: How much power is lost in the lines?
C: What is the percentage of the power lost?
The explanation given by the answer key, which seems correct to me, is:

Power = Volts * Amps
9*10^8 W = 7*10^5 V * X A

X = (9*10^8)/(7*10^5) A
X = 1286 A

Can someone share me their binder? I have states in a couple days, and my binder is trash. My email is yasasvi321@gmail.com. Also, I could give them my binder as well.

Offering your binder after stating that it "is trash" is not going to entice people :p

I would suggest:
- compiling all equations you have into a couple sheets
- finding a really good wind power timeline
- printing lots of relevant Wikipedia pages (Wind power is always a great place to start, then just click on related articles and print those too)
- reading those Wikipedia pages

and that should hopefully help some

If worst comes to worst, just print out the wiki. It's already a compilation of the major topics.

Btw my binder is not trash, but it is bad compared to Community MS (won 4th in nats last year and same people doing this year). I have barely any chance of beating them, but I still have some hope. We compete in NJ. I want to beat Community really badly, and we had a chance until yesterday when our state made wind power a written exam only which makes it so much harder for us. Also, I have no partner for the event. Can someone plz help me out? We could share our binders, and designs. We got 900 volts without resistance. Plz I'll give designs too. Email yasasvi321@gmail.com.

I seriously doubt you got 900 volts.

I'm sure he/she meant millivolts.

When calculating voltage drop with the formula V=RI would you also have to multiply by the wires length?

If you are given resistance, no. If you are given resistivity, yes, you need to factor in the length and cross sectional area of the wire,
R = r*L/A.
