oops hehe i forgot...

Question: A basketball player was sitting out during halftime, when one of her friends pointed to her neck and exclaimed "Marie, you have ringworm!"

Describe the causes and symptoms of ringworm and give the most probable place where Marie got the ringworm from (assume its somewhere in the school).

Ringworm is caused by a fungal infection. I think it's zoonotic but getting if from an animal at school seems unlikely, so they must have gotten it from someone else. Maybe the showers?
Symptoms would be a ton of circular rashes with a bumpy ring and dry skin inside.

Correct,
the fungus is commonly found in lockers and swimming pools, so she may have contracted it in the locker room.

The Kirby-Bauer test is a technique for determining the sensitivity of bacteria to antibiotics and/or the efficacy of certain antibiotics.

1. Prepare the bacteria in question. The bacteria should be in mid-log phase.
2. Prepare antibiotic disks from filter paper and the antibiotics in question. Make sure to create controls.
3. Spread bacteria on agar plates. Add antibiotic disks.
4. Incubate the disks. Check the area of inhibition around the antibiotic disks.
So much to do, so little time.

That's correct, since one sister cell gets smaller with every division. I'm not sure about the exact size though.
