Re: Wind Power B/C
I don't know, I think I'm missing something. The worst I've seen was about 70-something volts...
What kind of resistor are you using?

Re: Wind Power B/C
Oh, sorry! That's the raw voltage before I calculated with the resistor.
But 70 volts? Really? That seems high

Re: Wind Power B/C
Um, I tried to calculate the voltage and got .2 volts. Clearly I've calculated wrong...
I put into the calculator: .35^2= .1225 x 5= .2

Re: Wind Power B/C
Maybe it was 70mV. I'm not really sure...

Is this picture from the scores thread mV then?

Re: Wind Power B/C
I think those scores might be in millivolts
I hope no one is generating 400 VOLTS...

Re: Wind Power B/C
yes, raw score value are mV, but event supervisor didn't bother to convert to V when entering the value on the spread sheet. But that shouldn't matter , using the spreadsheet from SOINC website, calculation and output is consistent. It may not be valid, but it's consistent

Re: Wind Power B/C
Does the resistor alter the raw voltage output?

Re: Wind Power B/C
Having resistance will lower the power outcome but it wouldn't affect the voltage.dragon_fruit35 wrote:Does the resistor alter the raw voltage output?
