Maybe the test score was factored in?

Sorry to double post, but...

Fl0w, try weighting down your stand, it could be lighter than your blades.

Thanks for the suggestion, but the stand is already really heavy compared to the blades.

My CD motor is super close to the vertical part of the stand(I don't have a horizontal part sticking out)...so is it possible that the stand is disturbing the airflow somehow?

Maybe your blades are somehow running into the stand a little bit as they rotate?

They're a good 1cm away even while spinning, although it is something worthwhile to think about. I guess I'll just add the horizontal part to see
.

Has anyone seen/try using blade kits? Something like this found at Amazon?

Blade will have to be cut and trim for length requirement. This is a bit expensive for the blade, but just wonder if anyone has seen at Invitational or tried out ...and whether it perform any good?

Those blades would actually be pretty small... You'd have to divide the length in two, I believe. If you could get big enough ones, then it might work, with a "functional modification", of course!

We were just at another invitational where the supervisor interpreted the rule to mean blades cannot be within 3cm of the center on the FRONT of the CD, when the rules state it applies BEHIND the mounting plane. I hope someone can clarify this soon!

That's weird...

Fl0w, the motor I'm using is a uxcell one from Amazon. It has clips to hold the cd in place, and it doesn't seem to drop off in voltage.
