Doesn't it depend if you are asking for functional or strucutral classification. Plus synovial joint types are what most people think of like (ball and socket, planar or saddle joints)

Yeah it would, but it wasn't specified, so I went with that because that's what I've seen used as an example for that kind of joint all the time.

I understand your reasoning and it is correct. I was however more looking to the question, as it is not very clear what it is looking for. In those circumstances I think you provided the best answer.

1) What happens to myocytes when muscular tissue connects with a tendon?
2) What is the name for a bone that forms in a tendon?
3) Give two examples (give the name) of the above type of bone.

Not sure about 1. Just started muscular system and killing myself with physiology (Click to Show Hidden Text)

1. The two fuse together 
2. Sesamoid
3. Patella and Pisiform

The myocyte ends; the sarcolemma of the cells close around the tip and there is no fusion (happens gradually at the transition area from muscle to tendon)
