Does anyone know what the max V that the CD motor can produce? Is there a way to find out from spec? Would different manufacture have different V output? Is there different between CD motor vs DVD motor (portable DVD player)?

Yes, there are going to be lots of differences between different motors. Modern CD drives can spin the disc at up to 10,000 RPM using only a few volts. But, since none of the blade assemblies are going to be spinning any where remotely close to that speed, the voltage you'll see out of them is going to be a small fraction of the max possible voltage. And since at a given competition everyone will be tested with the same device, it doesn't really matter which motor you use.

I was wondering what we will be tested on like specifically. I don't currently have the the rules so I was just wondering.

We can't post the exact rules for copyright reasons, but the five subjects are rotor/ blade design, power generators, power storage, power transmission, and historical wind power designs. They are very specific and require a minimum of 25 questions per test, 5 per subject.

I would recommend reading plenty of scientific literature.

Can someone elaborate on what the middle 3 things(power generators, power storage, and power transmission) actually entail? The rules didn't explain too much.

They certainly were not clear, so this is speculation:

• Generators- function, structure, physics problems about how much power must be produced
• Storage- batteries and capacitors (maybe, idk)
• Transmission- I honestly have no idea
