Why did Case only give out 1st-3rd place medals? At other regionals (I know b/c I competed in a diff. one last year) and at States, they gave out 1st-6th. I think Case's policy is ridiculous and doesn't foster SCIOLY spirit, especially since the same teams get all the medals.

Our regional has medals for 1st-4th and our state has medals for 1st-5th.

We have medals for 1st-6th for both regionals and state.

Wow, only medals for 1st through 3rd. They should at least give ribbons for 4-6, no?

I think that they medal 1st to 3rd just so they can get the awards done pretty quickly. Plus, think about it this way. I'm not sure, but I think you're from NY, so you guys must be having pretty big invitationals, let's say 30-40. If you award the top six there, for a 15 - 20 team regional, the same proportion of people are being rewarded. The awards would be nice, for sure, but they probably have to factor things like cost and time in.

Yeah, but Ohio is one of the biggest SO states.
