In Air Trajectory, I've seen teams get tiered for their release mechanism (string) contributing to their falling mass, and there was an FAQ (by email) saying the top part of the bottle won't be counted in the falling mass because it was considered negligible. Your best bet would be to submit an FAQ.cnapun wrote:I have a question about rule 2c. It says, "Any part of the Scrambler whose gravitational potential energy decreases and provides energy to propel the ETV is considered to be part of the falling mass...the Scrambler must be impounded with the mass completely detached"
Does this mean that any string that decreases in potential energy must be detached at impound? Or is that considered to be of negligible mass?
Also, if I start with a notebook propped up on a piece of wood, and then allow the notebook to fall completely on the floor, would that be against rule 2h?
For the notebook, that would violate 2h.
Edit: I just submitted an FAQ about your question. I'll let you know when they respond.
