So what generally happens in Nevada anyway?

Well besides the casinos, gambling, drunkenness, etc...

With SciOly, teams from the Las Vegas have dominated for recent memory. For the C division, Centennial HS and Clark HS winning for the past 5 years. Both are very large high schools, fielding multiple teams and providing great competition.

In the middle school, Hyde Park has an 11 year dynasty of going to nationals. Hyde Park is an extremely strong academic school, fielding teams in Science Bowl, leaders in AMC (perfect AMC 8 school score), etc.

Now my high school, the Davidson Academy of Nevada, is a team from Northern Nevada. This is only our third year competing, and we won 2nd in B and 3rd in C last year, and hopefully will do well in states on Tau/2 day (see below)!

Because I'm from Northern Nevada, I don't know how the rest of the structure works in the Las Vegas area, and am not qualified to ramble on about it. However, for NNV, we had regionals today, the only other competition in our area besides state (generally held in LV).

I don't have access to the scores yet, but the placings were:
B Division:
1. Hyde Park
2. Davidson Academy of Nevada
3. Southern Highlands

C Division:
1. Clark High School
2. Davidson Academy of Nevada
3. Rancho High school

I can update with the scores when I receive them.
