Re: Simple Machines B/Compound Machines C
Hi again,
Thank you Bernard for those pictures! However, I have a question. How would you attach the mass to the class 2 lever? If there's a string between the two levers, then you wouldn't be able to attach a mass, correct?
Thank you!

Re: Simple Machines B/Compound Machines C
I made hooks out of paperclips that can slide along the meterstick. I'm not sure why you think I wouldn't be able to attach it to the class 2 lever. Could you clarify what you are thinking, possibly with a drawing? Also, I can post a picture of the paperclip hook if you like (though I strongly recommend making them more rigid since the paperclip opens up with a 1kg mass).TrueshotBarrage wrote:Hi again,

You shouldn't need to worry about that since the maximum weight you should see will be 800g.bernard wrote: I strongly recommend making them more rigid since the paperclip opens up with a 1kg mass).

Re: Simple Machines B/Compound Machines C
Thats great to hear. I was going to consider making them from some of the wood I use in Bridge Building but I don't think that would have done any better. I've seen some teams 3D print and it looks nice and probably works well.joeyjoejoe wrote:You shouldn't need to worry about that since the maximum weight you should see will be 800g.bernard wrote: I strongly recommend making them more rigid since the paperclip opens up with a 1kg mass).

Congrats, that's awesome to hear! Helping people is what this site is here for, and we're glad to hear it is happening! Were there any unexpected challenges you faced during the event? I think sharing that might help other people here who are new to the event :)TrueshotBarrage wrote:Regional competition was today for me.
