Personally, I struggled in APUSH, but I attribute that to my learning style. I learn best when I understand concepts through problem solving, not memorization (which is why I performed much better in classes like AP Chem). Apparently it's a "universal truth" that APUSH is one of the harder AP classes.

That being said, all of my Debate/MUN friends breezed through the class/test, so it really depends on the individual.

I'm currently taking AP Bio, AP Calc, AP US History, and AP Lang and Comp. I think it's manageable even with all my extracurriculars. For my school AP Calc has minimal homework, but AP World has tons of reading. AP World and AP bio are the hardest classes at my school.

The only three APs that are actually hard at my school are AP World due to the 50+ pages of reading a week, AP Calc BC because the teacher makes the tests awful, and AP Physics C because the teacher does not ever give anyone a grade above a 90 on anything, even the homework. In the end, difficulty really depends on your interests. I do not take much of a liking to the humanities, so AP Lang is hard for me, but on the other hand I took AP Stats as a sophomore (which is incredibly rare at my school) and did fairly well.

Has anyone taken AP Macroeconomics? I'm planning on taking it freshman year.

I took AP Macro this year, and plan to take the AP test in May. I would suggest taking AP Micro first, if you have the chance. Micro helps form the basis of many Macroeconomic concepts, and is overall a relatively easier class IMO for the exact same number of credits.

I really wanted to take Micro, but my school doesn't offer it until 10th, and I really don't want to do Econ 9. I'll probably end up taking both.

Nah AP Macro is a breeze as long as you understand basic math concepts and graphs. I took it freshman year and it has been the easiest AP class I have taken so far.

Hm, have you taken AP micro as well? How does that compare for you?

I'm taking AP Micro as an independent study this year and i think macro experience helps micro and micro helps macro. It doesn't matter what order you take them in.
