101 ways to get kicked out of a competition

After some 20+ years as an event sup, I can't say enough about how much I loved this thread. Best thread of any type on >> YEARS <<.


Sometimes truth is far less believable than fiction. Here are a few that actually took place around me:

A) Take your Trajectory device out of impound, go outside and shoot tennis balls at cars a block or more away.
B) When your Mission bursts into flame and the event sup drags it outside and hoses it with a fire extinguisher, scream and cry that you "could have won if the event sup hadn't messed with it."
C) Hide under your team's Mission table, sucking your thumb, while your partner doers all the work setting up your device and running it.
D) Loudly threaten to sue if you don't get a 60-second Mission run.
E) Insist that it's impossible for you to NOT get first place because you "have always gotten A's since first grade."
F) Ask to be DQ'ed. When asked why, explain, "Because I don't want to advance to States." Whjen asked why again, answer, "I wanna go to Prom this year."
G) AFter years of watching Mission as someone's little brother, start your SO carer by asking the event sup, "I've seen you here every year since I was in Kindergarten. Do you know anything?"
H) [my favorite] Tell the event sup, "You can't disallow any of my points. My Dad's an engineer and he built the whole thing perfectly."

129) have your bottle rocket nose dive onto someone's car's hood and dent it.

(this actually happened to me during our first tournament with the event. Our rocket was heavy with a 4.5 foot long, heavy tube and a plastic golf ball tip. we left a note saying "sorry we hit you with a rocket" and leaving a phone number. never got a call back. why the proctor decided to run the event near a full parking lot is beyond me.

130) Before your event starts, hand out letters of apology to the other teams in your room, apologizing for beating them all so badly
131)Bring a textbook and your school homework to the event and tell the proctor that you need to do it now because it was due two weeks ago.
132)Walk next to your main competitors and start smiling at them for extended periods of time.

133) Ask to use the bathroom right in the middle of an event.

This happened, and the event proctor thought about it for a second, then said no.

137)smash an egg from rotor on your rival's coach.
138)offer raw eggs and make others think its boiled. When they crack it it spills everywhere!
