Yes about the candle. A light bulb doesn't provide energy, so most likely not.

Re: Mission Possible C
I suspect iwonder meant it does not store energy. However, the battery powering it does, so I can see no reason why a light bulb could not begin lit.

Re: Mission Possible C
would that be like one of the tasks from one of the older missions?
block light from reaching a photosensor, and have broken circuit drop something to trip the next task?
2010 i think.....

It all depends on the necessary chain to startFlavorflav wrote:I suspect iwonder meant it does not store energy. However, the battery powering it does, so I can see no reason why a light bulb could not begin lit.

Re: Mission Possible C
Our team has a question about the containers we are separating the tees, paper clips, and marbles into. Do they still qualify as containers if there is no bottom? or are they considered separated if there is something else in the container with the separated items?

Re: Mission Possible C
I'm wondering that myself. My opinion would be that other items can be in the containers and points should still be awarded for sorting.
I'm less sure about the cutting the bottom off the container.... primarily because of the rule about the containers being similar. I personally would think it ought to be allowed though.
I'm really hoping clarifications on this and the other common questions come out soon... I understand it's an involved process and many have been sent in, but I'm having a lot of trouble building without knowing answers like this.

Re: Mission Possible C
That was pretty much exactly what I was thinking of. Except I was thinking of lifting a block to let light hit a sensor. But looking at that, I have another question. Does that even count as a direct transfer from mechanical to EM? The light is there to begin with, you don't create the light with a mechanical action. But if that's the case, I don't think mechanical to EM wouldn't even be possible.Phys1cs wrote:would that be like one of the tasks from one of the older missions?

Re: Mission Possible C
Our first invitational is this weekend, I want to be sure that we are following the correct format for our ETL. Will something be posted soon?chalker wrote:Robotica wrote:Stated in the rules there should be an example of the ETL, or at least the required format at soinc.org. Has anyone found this info?
Thanks
We just recently realized this was missing. We're working on getting one up soon.
Thanks.
