Really? I was under the impression we had to know both, but I don't have my rules on me. Third opinion, anyone?

Oh goodness, this is odd. I know that I saw somewhere that Division B had to only know orders. But now I'm confused. :?

EDIT: Oh, it was the wiki. And that's probably outdated. >.>

Sorry, SirMacalot, I guess you do have to know families. My mistake.

Order, Family And common names for both Div B and Div C. Always check current rules!

I just read the rules and they don't distinguish between B and C, but the wiki says that B only has to know the orders. I really hope that the wiki is right because I have to do a lot more events :(

If you have a division B rules manual, than it's for division B. If it's a C manual, than those are the rules for C. No manual has rules for both divisions, so they are distinguished. I don't know how different they are, though.

Sweetheart, it's order and family for both divisions. Sorry, I just checked. The wiki is seriously outdated.

Last time Entomology was an event, division B only had to know the orders and division C also had to know the families. The list was the same but it indicated on the list which items were division C only.

Now, the list is exactly the same for both B and C, everybody needs to know the orders and families. Which is good, in my opinion, because this event would be insanely easy if it was just orders.
2009 events:
Fossils: 1st @ reg. 3rd @ states (stupid dinosaurs...) 5th @ nats.
Dynamic: 1st @ reg. 19thish @ states, 18th @ nats
Herpetology (NOT the study of herpes): NA
Enviro Chem: 39th @ states =(
Cell Bio: 9th @ reg. 18th @ nats
Remote: 6th @ states 3rd @ Nats
Ecology: 5th @ Nats

Well, sorry about that. But really, the event would be too easy if it was just orders. We all have other events to do. You'll get it done.
