The replacement sounds kinda boring...
The national Food Science test did ask kid to bake a cup cake which took 30 minutes.Skink wrote:That's why the rules recommend doing your own baking experiments to experimentally determine that for yourself! ....
They don't make you bake a cupcake at your States did they?u287772 wrote:The national Food Science test did ask kid to bake a cup cake which took 30 minutes.
*shudders* I think the cupcake was what made the test insanely difficult. Honestly, I thought the cupcake part was a waste of time and shouldn't have been a part of the test. In my opinion, the cupcake part should've been scrapped and just let us take the rest of the test as just a station test with maybe an extra cupcake density station or something. I felt so extremely rushed through the stations, especially the last one (since we had those additional questions to do as well). We somehow managed to get 6th (still wondering how that happened), but did anyone else have the same problem?u287772 wrote:The national Food Science test did ask kid to bake a cup cake which took 30 minutes.
No, no cupcake at State/Regional.Beastybob12345 wrote:They don't make you bake a cupcake at your States did they?u287772 wrote:The national Food Science test did ask kid to bake a cup cake which took 30 minutes.
I know the rules and requirements might be different in your state than mine.
They didn't make us bake in NorCal.
Baking cupcakes at home, no rush, and with a recipe? No, not hard at all. Baking a cupcake under time constraints at nationals as a part of Food Science? Much harderBeastybob12345 wrote:Is baking cupcakes hard? I wanna try it.
*does a spittake* Dang, how much time did you have?silverheart7 wrote:Baking cupcakes at home, no rush, and with a recipe? No, not hard at all. Baking a cupcake under time constraints at nationals as a part of Food Science? Much harderBeastybob12345 wrote:Is baking cupcakes hard? I wanna try it.
It seems like a bit too much for this time period. How many questions (estimated) do you have to answer?Skink wrote:I don't know about the National tournament, but that's been used before during the 50min event as one of the many laboratory practical activities at some invitationals. I predicted that many pages back, by the way. I never put it on my tests, but it's a neat activity.
