Re: Texas 2013
The two Texas teams that are highly competitive at nats(LASA and Seven Lakes) choose not to do any trial events typically and focus on national events at state. For the rest of us we use trial events as a way to place high and maybe make it to nats

My team didn't do any trial events last year, and I'm pretty sure we're not doing any this year either

This is actually the first year that Seven Lakes will not be competing in Texas events. LASA has never competed in Texas events, at least not for several years at it was actually off of one of the LASA mentor's recommendation that SL do entirely national events this year to increase their competitiveness at the national tournament.

Re: Texas 2013
That's what I thought, but doesn't that give them a disadvantage at states because they were thinking about nats?iwonder wrote:The two Texas teams that are highly competitive at nats(LASA and Seven Lakes) choose not to do any trial events typically and focus on national events at state. Re: Texas 2013
Nope. The events are the same(because they ignored the Texas events), so they're studying for the same events, it doesn't put them at a disadvantage. the teams that don't do that have the ability to compete in trial events if they're better at certain trials than at national events, so I guess those teams don't get that luxury, but it's not really a huge loss.
