Occasionally I get a Forestry related breakdown... While I don't find it a hard event, I think the time contraints at stations put a lot of pressure on competitors to really know what they're doing. In addition, the variables of picture quality can make the event difficult. At Regionals, my partner and I were faced with extremely blurry and/or innacurate pictures, a confusing station set up, and short amounts of time. We came out of the event nervous about our placing, because we knew that we had gotten many of the station identifications incorrect.

Despite that I have two station events with short time amounts, I'm awful under pressure. I've almost started crying in forestry before, and it's just difficult to work under pressure from both the test and myself.

The hardest event in my opinion is most likely mission. Im from shadyside and we suck so badly at mission. 3 of my teammates have spent so many months on that thing. Everything you breaks and there;s always something needing to be fixed. Brings down out team :|

I AGREE! Every single time my team makes an awesome Mission Possible Design it works a dozen times at school, but always comes with complications at the competition. Also, I wrong set-up and your whole Mission Possible may not work, even though it was spectacular looking. My brother told me that during the competition the Mission Possible didn't work but then when the judges scored the box already, they tried it again afterwords and it worked. Unfortunately, they didn't receive their points.

For me, the hardest event is heredity. It's a biology event, and i've noticed that the bio tests are a lot harder than the earth science or physics tests.

Who doesn't agree? If you have a box that works 100% at competitions, you either made it super simple, or made it perfectly. Probably not the latter. In a competition, I have had several problems. So many problems.

Unfortunately, the hardest event is a function of a test preparing student, at least at LA county 2013. Fermi questions test was designed by a genius having tested quantum mechanics and advanced biology rather than "normal" Fermi stuff.

Mission Possible for us is the hardest event. This is easily the event that took our team the most amount of time to do yet we still didn't get everything we wanted to do. Hmmm, that's interesting, what kind of quantum mechanics and advanced biology are on Fermi Questions?

ID events are really hard if you haven't done that event before. In Rocks and Minerals, they kept last year's list for this year, so anyone who did that event last year would be at a HUGE advantage. Also, Sounds of Music is just plain devilish. It's basically the equivalent of 2 build events and a mini-test with no notes. It was fun though. :D
2013 Events:

Hopeful 2014 events:

I agree. I volunteered for rocks if no one else would do it, and ... well ... forestry and rocks are really different, so I pretty much absolutely failed rocks although I pwn at forestry ...

Materials Science. It is a ridiculously broad event to begin with and expands even more at states. Granted other events do this expansion, but just read the rules and I'm sure there are some sympathizers out there.
