Re: Ongoing Contest(Scores)
Hey, its good to hear that info posted to this board has been of help to folks. Thanks.
Science-O (and science, for that matter) is all about learning; taking what's known, and going that next step. Helping make sure that what's known is....accessible to everyone ups everybody's game. Over the years, I've learned a lot from info folk have posted here, and it only seems appropriate to.....give back to the pool of knowledge.
One thing to....grumble about; inthewoods' and fanjiatan's comments about scores not being available to the competitors. For many years, in the Northern Colorado Region, and at State, for towers/bridges/booms, we've run a blackboard in the testing room. Back when there was morning check-in & impound, it showed run-time, structure weight, load carried, and score; this year with on-line sign-up, and check-in and then run , just team #s, and scores. This helps make it an enjoyable spectator event.
I have to assume there is some rationale behind keeping results ....secret, but I'll be darned if I can figure out what it is. Both for making the event a better spectator event, and supporting the ...importance of learning that presumably underliies S-O, providing everyone with the information of how everyone did- what that picture looks like seems the obvious way to go.

You're from JT Lambert, right? I've competed against you twice, and both times you had an efficiency that was over 800. Was that just a typo, or did you actually get a 99?isaysroar wrote:2nd Place over all in JTLambert's recent regional competition! Overall Score: 99!!!!! YAY!

I thought that isaysroar meant that the efficiency was 99, since this is the "Ongoing Contest" page. So what was your efficiency, if you care to share it? I went back and saw that you guys got 1st place.

Re: Ongoing Contest(Scores)
Oops I may have just replied to the wrong thread... Ye my brother does the event and his record is about 960 but during the regionals competition his wood failed (it was rotten or something like that) and he only got 640, he could have gotten about 1100 if the wood didn't fail.
