Re: New York 2013
I think I might have seen you at Rotor Egg Drop, though unknowingly. I was there at around 2:00, and our the egg broke on our run. So yeah...if you remember the Asian girl in the orange shirt, that's me.Shad160 wrote:I had a great time proctoring Dynamic and Reach, and ended up helping out with Rotor Egg Drop by the time I was done with the other two- the third year in a row I've stumbled into accidentally proctoring an aviation event. I also met/caught up with a handful of Syosset kids through proctoring![]()
EDIT: Since I don't want to double post...I believe all the regionals around NY are done now, so who's up for a meet-up at States?
Current Events: Dynamic Planet, Entomology, and Experimental Design

I actually had a lot of fun grading/protoring Experimental Design. Shout out to the team who put their team number as 30.05! And the boy who listed "fingers" as a material!

I had a lot of fun proctoring and grading as well! The scores for Rocks and Minerals were so incredibly close. I almost felt bad for everyone because at certain ranking ranges, a few extra questions correct made such a difference.
Yes, I do events. No, I will not put them in my signature.

xD Fingers! That's priceless.Liv wrote:I actually had a lot of fun grading/protoring Experimental Design. Shout out to the team who put their team number as 30.05! And the boy who listed "fingers" as a material!
I'm still steaming over the ridiculousness of the Forestry event, because instead of putting each thing up on a PowerPoint slide like they usually do, they made us go to stations with poorly-printed color sheets with questions, and we had no time! It was frustrating, and I think that if we had more time, I would have been able to fill out a little bit more than half of the answer sheet... I mean, we got second, but still. I'm disappointed, because I almost certainly could have gotten first. Oh well. Look out, NY Div. B!

Oh, that must be where my coach got it from.BroNiSciGuy wrote:Your team number for States is listed on the flap of the envelope your coach got at the award ceremony.juicemanman wrote:Does anyone know when we find out team numbers?
Wait, no... I don't think he did. He definitely didn't know it right after the competition.

Re: New York 2013
I just want to say:
Gelinas E was the last team put together, and we were making changes, adding events, and reassigning as late as Friday night. My Forestry partner and I were named as captains, and we were somewhat hopeful for our team. For E to be 4th in the region was one of my proudest moments ever.
Congratulations to everyone! I was extremely disappointed in Forestry (the pictures were awful, and teams were cheating off of each other) but I still think it was a great competition overall.
