Re: New York 2013
Well, WM did displace FM as the state champ after quite a long reign, which was interesting, at least. Also, there was quite a bit of movement among the top few teams this year...I wonder why.caseyotis wrote:Although it was somewhat expected, congratulations! Re: New York 2013
Yes, even though the expected two teams are going to Nationals, I would not say that "expected" is a good description of these results, at all. FM was champ for ten years, among other things.
On another note, who else hated the Experimental setup? Not only is it on this site, it's one of the worst of the bunch.

Holy cow, Half Hollow Hills was SO CLOSE to nabbing FM's national spot altogether

Re: New York 2013
Does anyone know if the New York coordinators will be posting the results from the top 5 in every tech event again this year? We found it very helpful last year!

Re: New York 2013
I am SO proud of Ward Melville, they did amazing. Top 10 in every event but Chem Lab and WIDI? That's phenomenal.
Also, I was pretty happy with the Rocks and Minerals scores. Normally, they're not very good, and there's a huge gap between the top 3 scores and everyone else, but the scores were pretty good this time, I was glad to see it.

Re: New York 2013
Oh man, that wait...we hadn't taken a single medal yet and we just wanted to go home, not wait for Materials Science. We were all just sitting there bored until suddenly we heard our name announced and holy crap me and my partner took the medal XD If anything we were expecting to place in Forensics since we've been working together on it for three years and took first at regionals, not the trial event we took second in at regionals!

Re: New York 2013
Tell me about it. That would have produced an all-Eastern L.I. slate, too - New York has never sent two teams from the same region. Hey, if Great Neck South keeps creeping up the way they have been, with Syosset we could have an all-Long Island top 4.Luo wrote:Holy cow, Half Hollow Hills was SO CLOSE to nabbing FM's national spot altogether
