don't worry, I already began looking at graduate schools. I'm the king on overtly-early-preparedness, except when cleaning my room or doing chores.thehydrogenpoptart wrote:I'm a bit young to be declaring this, but I do want to go the University of Chicago(getting in is another matter, though)
Perfection. That’s what it’s about. It’s those moments. When you can feel the perfection of creation. The beauty of physics, you know, the wonder of mathematics. The elation of action and reaction, and that is the kind of perfection that I want to be connected to.

I know! I just like having stability for the time being. When things change, I will make plans with that situation.Skink wrote:Have you selected a final resting place, too?ThePrudentGuava wrote:don't worry, I already began looking at graduate schools. What you don't know is what those changes are. It's different things for different people. The most common one is either interests or friends changing, probably.

Wow guys... I'm here just hoping for an acceptance from the state flagship.
Yeah. Standards dropped a bit this year. :3
Anyhoo, got about a month and a half left before the rejection letters start rolling in!

I just can't decide how many colleges to apply for. Is there any good number to apply at?

Re: Where are you going for colleges?
It's really up to you, depending on how many of the colleges you can realistically see yourself going to - not making it into, but going to; I hate to use the words "fit" or "match" because they're such buzzwords, but it's a good idea to first just narrow down your college list by your own personal criteria (major, school size, extracurriculars/sports culture, visit campus if you can) without worrying about how many will end up on it. Maybe you also want to consider how many "safety" vs. "reach" schools you want to apply to, or how much much time you want to put into the process, etc. You may end up applying to two or three you feel you'll make it into and call it done, or you can be like my friend who applied to 15 places ranging from UIUC to HYPS. I applied to 10, which is a little on the high end (I'd say the average for someone who considers themselves fairly academically strong is 5-7? Probably more these days, considering the increasing competitiveness of admissions.)49ers wrote:I just can't decide how many colleges to apply for. Is there any good number to apply at?
