Anyone have some good ideas for the final task? My team already has something coming together, but I'm curious to see what you all are doing. Is anyone also doing the granular material task? If so, what have you got in mind? Thanks!

Special Task Weight
Hi! For the mass of the weight in the special task (if one were to cast it out of iron) how many cm^3 would it need to be? Mostly I was wondering if any of you came up with ~635, using the density of iron as 7.874 grams per cubic centimeter, because the mass starts getting pretty big...

Yes it could potentially be quite big. But keep in mind that is only the MAX allowed weight. You can still get a lot of points for a much smaller weight / mass.

Re: Mission Possible B
So at the Wright State Invitational, we were totally unprepared for this event, because of procrastination. All we had was a skeleton of a box, made out of PVC pipe. At the competition, what we did was we dropped a quarter into the box for the first task. That's all, and the supervisor scored it! Now here comes the best part... we got 24th out of about 55 teams!
I still have no idea how that happened.

Events: Meteorology, Forestry, Keep the Heat, Shock Value, Mission Possible, Heredity, Anatomy, Metric Mastery
2013 Medals/Ribbons:
Anatomy- 2nd
Forestry- 2nd
Heredity- 6th, 1st
Meteorology- 3rd, 1st
Metrics- 4th
Keep the Heat- 7th, 1st
Shock- 7th

Re: Mission Possible B
That's easily explained. There are many clueless teams in this event, and I wouldn't be surprised if there were Tier 2'd folks in there (who probably scored lower than you, then). Even at State, you still see construction violations occasionally.
