...
Okay, we are not, and I repeat NOT your source for all little miniscule Optics things.
And in reply to your questions:
Rod cells:120 million
Cone cells: 7 million
Blind spot size: 1.0-1.2 mm
That's all I have.

Re: Optics B/C
thanks once again. sorry that weird questions with a lack of consensus between internet sources come up on my tests...

Re: Optics B/C
Heyy guys...
I have been wondering, I have learned all the physical and geometric parts of optics, but now on the NY state Optics test questions about real life parameters of binoculars came up like 7x50 (I know now what it is). What else should I expect?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Optics B/C
Last year at nationals, they had almost (if not absolutely...can't remember very well) nothing regarding optical devices. I mean, it'll be nice to know them and all, but you may not even have to use that knowledge. For the test, just make sure you can use the equations proficiently because that was the hardest part of it (it wasn't even that difficult anyway).
And they might make the optics test easy again this year, so make sure you know how to kill the laser shoot, because a few milimeters can determine whether you get 1st or 10th.

Re: Optics B/C
heyy guys..
Last year at Nationals for B division the test was extremely easy and the placing was almost all based on the laser shoot because, I suspect, most of the teams go a 100% on the test. Last years events years are here:
B Part 1: http://scioly.org/w/images/b/b9/Optics- ... Part-1.pdf
B Part 2: http://scioly.org/w/images/5/5c/Optics- ... Part-2.pdf
C: http://scioly.org/w/images/5/5d/Optics_ ... xam_11.pdf
But there was nothing about the optical instruments so IDK what to expect.
What were on other state test that may be interesting?
Thanks in advance.

Last year it wasn't one of the included topics if I remember correctly.SciBomb97 wrote:Last year at nationals, they had almost (if not absolutely...can't remember very well) nothing regarding optical devices. Re: Optics B/C
Correct, which is easily verified by noting that item 3.b.vi in the rules is in BOLD, indicating it's new this year.Infinity Flat wrote: Last year it wasn't one of the included topics if I remember correctly.
