Weird things that have happened at your school?

Okay, let's see, I graduated college in 1986. When I was a sophomore in college, at about 11 PM on a "school night," some boys bought a huge bunch of lab chickens and ran through the girls' dorm (where they are NOT allowed during the week at all) and tried opening bedroom doors and threw the a chicken in each unlocked room. Thankfully, my roomie and I had our door locked (but we sure heard the chaos). There must've been 50 of these chickens. Oh, chickens tend to poop a lot when nervous or in a new situation (they probably do so when they are relaxed and in familiar surroundings too). So, after the loudest of the ruckus died down, my roomie and I cautiously opened our door to see girls chasing chickens down the stairs (we were on third floor) and there were feathers and chicken droppings everywhere. Lots of high-pitched screaming. The girl next door (she didn't have a roommate) was very calm about it. She had grown up on a chicken farm and was not freaked out by it all. So she told us how to chase them out without them turning on us. We chased them outside (I have no idea what happened to them once they were outside -- they were gone by morning). When all was quiet, we went to bed. The next morning, I was brushing my teeth and the housekeeper came in to clean the shared bathrooms. She just looked around at all those white feathers (not sure if the droppings registered with her...) and said, "Wow, you girls must've had one big pillow fight last night." I don't think I answered her, just smiled and nodded.

Oh, and how about a quasi-science story. I run a homeschool co-op with about 30 families and everything from newborns to high school seniors. One lady was teaching Egypt history and couldn't really afford to buy a chicken (perhaps I should've saved one from the college story above) to mummify so she reluctantly said, "We'll just mummify apples instead." Well, the day of the mummy class, she saw two mice run across her garage floor and set a trap and within 30 minutes (they never trap that quickly, but they did for her) had a perfectly trapped mouse (no cuts or weird smashes). She had her husband release the dead animal and she put it in a ziploc and brought it to co-op. She decided if she couldn't mummify a chicken, she'd mummify a mouse (much smaller, requires less salt, and you don't have to pay for it). But, she didn't know where all the insides were, so I helped her google mouse anatomy so she could pull out the guts and put them in canopic jars. The wimpy kids who felt queasy went with to another room with another mom to mummify the apples she already had bought, but the brave 7 year olds helped this mom mummify a mouse, one that had been alive about 3 hours before. They won't soon forget that.

I guess mummification is slightly scientific.

Ok so our school has about 14 bathrooms, some kid set fire to 12 of them, in ONE day, and while class was STILL GOING ON

There was a 70 yr old dude in a white van slowly follow a kid walking to school last week. Also, we got a bomb threat. They didn't know who wrote it, but we were under lockdown, and the person's punishment would be a suspension or expulsion if they got caught.

the only weird things that have ever happened are: two mountain lions at my school...and my classmates reacted by playing cards 0.o
then at my old elementary school....at least 10 rattlesnakes.....my elementary school after that...there was a gunman...and two fires...and then we had a lockdown in 7th grade once cuz there was a crazy pedophile PE coach from the nearby highschool...yup...not much xD
oh yeah
and then in 6th grade some highschoolers jumped the fence around our school and drew some...inappropriate images on the PE locker room walls

Last year, a kid went to the boy's bathroom, and wrote profane language all over the walls. It was written in his...I don't think I need to finish my sentence. Needless to say, I was staying after school, and I went into the bathroom. It was one of the grossest things I have ever seen.

For ISATS, they stopped giving us bananas...Someone had taken several and smeared them all over one of the boy's bathrooms....And then there was another incident, but with excretion...

We nearly used #1 pencils for third grade ISATs. And I call the ISATs IBSATs - Illinois Below Standard Acheivement Test.

Once at practice, the computer cart was making an annoying noise, so I went and investigated. It was coming from a computer plug with a frayed wire which gave off sparks while I was holding it. Then a teammate and I started singing the song from the mysterious ticking noise because the event was so similar. (Annoying sound coming from pipe-shaped electronic that explodes)

Chicken Story

That was hilarious and of epic proportions; thanks for sharing! Where/How do you get your hands on "lab" chickens, anyways? Only in rural areas 25 years ago?

And havenguy's story...gross. I pity the person who had to clean up afterwards.
