Usually, I feel that shagbark appears bigger than pignut, but there is a lot of overlap.

The needles looked really short (on the nationals list, only balsam fir and subalpine fir have needles <1 in, the other 2 firs have needles twice as long) so if it isn't balsam fir, then its subalpine firPacificGoldenPlover wrote:Correct, how did you know?
