How can we discuss wetlands more in depth? Right now I'm just using a sponge and saying something like "This sponge is a wetland. As you can see it's very wet.".

We use perlite.

How do you make food coloring spread faster? When I add it to the aquifer, it just stays in one spot.

And another question... How long does it take you to build your aquifer? I find that it takes me approximately 30 seconds to actually build the aquifer, and I spend the rest of the time with my partner going over the concepts and generally just waiting. My presentations usually turn out pretty well, though. I don't see why other teams need 10 minutes to pile sand, clay, and gravel into their container... Am I doing something wrong or forgetting something?

My partner and I do imaginary aquifer to work on our presintations, it's fun and really helps

Does anyone know a good way to show remediation without using charcoal? I read on the side of the container that it was known to cause cancer so I guess that wouldbe hazardous. Any other ideas?

There are many many many ways to remediate water. Just think of a material you could add to water that you could easily get rid of through some kind of filter.

Good question. Erm, the only thing I can think of is having little lego trees near water.However, actually showing water getting sucked in through the roots and evaporate is going to be kind of hard.

There are many many many ways to remediate water. Just think of a material you could add to water that you could easily get rid of through some kind of filter.

If you take a funnel and experiment a little bit, you can generally make a pretty awesome filter. I would suggest using sand, paper towels and some small rocks.
