This will be my first time going to science olympiad competition and no matter what is explained, I can't seem to understand how to creat, read, or do anything else with a curve graph.

For the viscometer, does it matter if we use Karo Light Corn Syrup (clear) or the Karo Dark Corn Syrup? Also we cannot find Mazola Brand Canola oil, so can we use another brand?

Thanks!

I used both when I tested mine in December. My results were not very different from each other for the Karo Corn Syrup. But as far as the Mazola, I couldn't find any either so I can't help you there.

Food Science is really vague, but this powerpoint may be able to help. http://www.soinc.org/food_science_b (it'll be the 1st link on the page)
If you can't understand that; I suggest looking at some sample tests (J.C Booth Invitational, or North Carolina)

Does anyone know if the standard curve graphs are required to make before the competition, it was unclear on the rules where it said to "prepare standard curve graphs" but it didnt say if we should bring them.
Any help would be great, thanks.

The answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe, and everything is 42.

The ultimate question itself is unknown. Can anyone actually read this?

Does anyone know what the specific meaning of a brown bag test is? I keep hearing the name when I study but I can't find any information on it.
