So... quick question on the wording if the rules. They state, and I quote:

d. Hazardous spills, flames, liquids, and hazardous materials [...] are not permitted.

So, does this mean, no "hazardous liquids or no liquids?
Please help me on this.

I'm curious what you are thinking of using a liquid for. When we were creating the tasks we explicitly tried to avoid anything that might need a liquid.

Neither of those require a liquid though. They can be accomplished either via a granular solid, or via air (pneumatics).

It doesn't say "use the IMA," you can't really "use" a measurement. It does, however say to use a lever with an IMA greater than 1. Essentially, magnify the force at the end of the lever such that you need it (an example of this would be lifting a 500g mass with a 100g mass applied to a lever with an IMA greater than 5).

hey guys could i get a quick opinion on this. i did submit a official clarification but with the task concerning pouring granular material from a lower container to a higher container do u think it wuld be okay if the container with the granular material starts lower that the other container but then i raise it higher than pour it into the container. again i submitted a clarification but i just thought it wuld be better if i got an opinion thnx

I'm not trying to be difficult, but what makes you think the scenario you propose is not legal?

Kind of, but the important part of the rule (which may be confusing) is probably "in a manner that requires..." It is relatively easy to build a lever with an IMA greater than 1 (just shift the fulcrum away from the center on a 1st class lever). But it is much different to actually utilize that IMA in a productive manner. For example, you might use a 100g mass applied to a 5 IMA lever to lift a 25g mass, but you didn't need the IMA of 5 to complete the task. However, if the mass you were lifting was ~500g, you would have needed the large IMA.

oh yeah i guess i forgot to mention that srry. I was wondering if it was legal to pour the material from a higher container if that container starts lower but then i raise it up.
