Re: Mousetrap Vehicle B
Thank you Dox. And if possible, try it on different tracks with different friction/conditions then do a separate regression for each of the track surfaces. Once you have all the information, then you wanna make sure you know how to use your data for the actual run

Re: Mousetrap Vehicle B
DVDs/CDs are a great option for many teams. Although not the most stable or straight, they are perfect circles and are easily replaceable. Just make sure that you wrap a balloon, rubberband, or electrical tape around the edges. This will provide the right amount of traction necessary for such thin wheels.

...are you reffering to someone's sig? If so, they can write whatever they want as long as it's not offensive. Please do not post such comments on event threads like this.mustang20 wrote:OK, i gett that you gan recite pi! shut up

In support of illusionist, what you type and how you type it may be interpreted differently, so if a Moderator finds it offensive you will find yourself in a problem.

Re: Mousetrap Vehicle B
The amount of tension in the spring on a mousetrap decreases when you use it a lot, right? So, in competition, would it be best to use a new mousetrap instead of an older one?

Re: Mousetrap Vehicle B
Well, it depends. If you have been testing for 2 months using the same mousetrap, then it'd be a terrible idea to switch to a new one the day before competition. However, it might be better to switch out for a new mousetrap every week. If you go to last year's Mousetrap Vehicle C thread, you'll find a lot of information dealing with this exact same issue.

Re: Mousetrap Vehicle B rules
Submit an official clarification through soinc.org (this is not the place for official rules clarifications, nothing said on this site is enforceable).PaulJ wrote:Can the mousetrap be glued to the vehicle? The rules imply that you need to use screws.
paul
That being said, which line do you think implies only screws are permissible? I don't think I can find anything that says only screws are allowed.
