Plug in a keyboard.

There is an even number of numbers for each set, so if it's a cipher, it could be polyalphebetic.

I think I may have solved the clue. The first thing that I did was use a letter number cipher where a=0 and b=1 which got me "fejb/ga/habcba". Then I realized that there are pairs of letters which is characteristic of the playfair cipher. I put "habcba" through the plaiyfair cipher with "fejbga" as the key, and got "diehfh" Therefore, I protect Hangfromthefloor since hfh is similar to hfth.

I do.

However, I'm far from the only one -- almost everyone back in the "olden days" ( :? I feel really old now) used ciphers -- and I leaned more towards a combination of ciphers and knowledge than straight ciphers, like this sassy uses.

Oh, and through about half an hour of work/arguing on chat, we (read: winneratlife, with minimal help from brobo and I) proved that the numbers can't be converted into a date through a base conversion.
