how about instead of having a drop down list we use a fill-in-the box thing?Dark Sabre wrote:That is a good idea, though it will be some trouble to implement, if we do. I can't add new options to the state selection dropdown (except to the bottom of the list) without making everyone who has already selected one show up as the wrong state. We would have to go into the database and shift everyone's state selection by one (if their state is listed after California) and add the second California option. Might happen.mnstrviola wrote:How about for state, on the profile thing (to the left when you post) there are separate categories for norcal/socal so we can distinguish which state competition they will be at.

Because some jokester will put in "QX" or "TROLOLOLOL" (which would likely be shortened to "TR")

Re: Season 2011 - Site suggestions
I like this suggestion- especially for topics that have lots of people on it. That would be much nicer than refreshing every 30 seconds to see if anything new was posted. I think something similar is in place for when you post- sometimes a little thing pops up when you hit submit saying that something new was posted? I haven't encountered it very much...Gemma W wrote:I think that it would be good when someone edits the last post on a forum that you are watching, it should tell you. Because a lot of people will go and have it be marked read, and then won't realize if something new is added to the post.
But having a notice that there are new posts on the topic you are currently reading would be good.

Agreed. I frequently edit posts after I write them, because I find typos or reword sentences or add on things. If someone posts while I'm editing, then it's no problem because the edit is marked, but if they don't it just looks like nothing happened.butter side up wrote:I like this suggestion- especially for topics that have lots of people on it. Is there a way you could cheat the alphabetization for Socal and Norcal show up on the bottom of the list? Or one of them replaces California, and the other is at the bottom?Dark Sabre wrote:That is a good idea, though it will be some trouble to implement, if we do.
