wow, you're like a mind reader haha. I did take up running (the next closest thing to swimming I think) and I'm good at it, but nowhere as good as I was at swimming, it's nowhere as fun, and I still miss it like crazy
I certainly wish I could read minds. ;) Yeah, they would have us run before practice. I was actually relieved when we got in the pool for a punishing 2 hour practice because I was so slow. :D There's something about just staring at the bottom of a pool and following the black line that's very peaceful... until my coach starts throwing kick boards at me because I'm not paying attention to what I'm doing... good times. What was your coach like?
I went through about 3 coaches in my 6 years of swimming... I've had the crazy harsh ones, the chill but lazy ones, and ones that are awesome but really makes you good... I'm still great friends with one of my coaches now, but yes I've experienced the kickboard throwing haha

Congratulations, you have successfully put every swim coach I've ever had into 3 categories. They moved me to a different training group so now I don't have this awesome coach that I used to have... :( Speaking of kickboard throwing, I remember this time my friend was swimming on the wrong side of the lane and my coach flipped and threw a whole stack of boards at him because we were about to start a kick set anyway. He freaked out in the funniest way possible. :D Okay, end nostalgic rant. Did anything crazy like that ever happen on your team, or is my team just weird? And 6 years? That's awesome!

Apologies for the double post, but in my time on this forum (which isn't very long, but still) I have never seen another SciOlyer from Rhode Island! Might I ask which school you go to?

Nice! Congrats on winning States this year! I was kind of a newbie this year, so I'm definitely excited for next year. What's on your event wish list?

Oh, I hear that. I'd be freaking out if we made it to Nats (in a good way though!). It does, I wish that RI would get with the program on some of the events. As for swimming, I'm on LRAC, so I might know your friend. I haven't been in a while because I hurt my shoulder, but everyone on the team knows each other.

Oh, I forgot to put this year's events that I did: Disease Detectives, Disaster Downstream, and Write it Do it. I helped out with Sounds but we let the more experienced members present the instrument. It was so awesome when you all came running down the stairs, I was actually laughing because it was such an epic moment. :D

That's awesome! One of the pluses about living in a small state, your chances are greater that people you meet know people you know. Are you excited for nats?
