Nothing- just your brain. This event requires a lot of memorization.94 wrote:What can you bring as a resource?

Re: Health Science
The health science test was crazy at nationals (and we got 2nd)-- there's no way you could do really well in that by taking AP bio (unless there's a medical AP class that my school doesn't offer?) As for cell bio, it just depends on who's writing the test; at nationals, the designer genes (now cell bio) guy seems to write fairly basic tests that just require that team members be able to work together well and be speedy. At my state competition, AP bio wouldn't have been nearly in depth enough. So yeah. Event test writer.sciolykid101 wrote:Then, what levels are Div. Depending on your level of competition, no class will be enough if you don't study extra things like crazy. First off you are assuming that you have a good teacher and the course content matches exceptionally well, and second off you are assuming that the test will be at a college freshman level, which is sometimes signifigantly lower than certain scioly tests.sawman15 wrote:For any of the study events, taking an AP class helps A LOT!!!!!!!!!
Especially since I did Health Science and Cell Biology last year, I did amazing just by taking the class. Studying would have helped a lot more too. The tests are detailed though.

Re: Health Science
Stations were taken to the extreme at nationals last year for this event. If I remember correctly, there were 20 stations at 2 minutes per station. Although the questions were difficult, it was very, very disorienting to be running around the room every few minutes. If the protors simply combined stations (10 stations at 4 minutes per station), the event would have run much smoother.

Re: Health Science
Well you do have to consider the amount of teams they were dealing with. I mean 20 teams, 20 stations, it just makes sense. Although they could have made two tracks, like 2 loops of 10 stations.
SO stressed!

Re: Health Science
If they only have one of some of the anatomical models then they can't do a double loop.
