PC, but only for one reason, Mac beats PC in every way, interface, technology, except that PC has Alienware, and Alienwares make Macs look like PCs, in the eyes of Macs.
I have used all three, and let me tell you, there is nothing better than an Alienware, whether you are checking e-mails, or dominating WoW with a level 85.

actually Origin makes much faster computers than alienware.Archy Middle wrote:PC, but only for one reason, Mac beats PC in every way, interface, technology, except that PC has Alienware, and Alienwares make Macs look like PCs, in the eyes of Macs.

I'm writing an essay for language is their anything I missed
The computer world has basically been divided in two. There are computers made by Apple that run Snow Leopard, called Macs, and all other computer that run Windows or Linux, called PCs. Although many people think that these computers are about equal in reality Apple has less than 5% of the worldwide computer markets. Apple advertises a sleek, beautiful product that never lags, however when actually used these computers are slow, expensive, and lack good software.
PCs are cheaper then Macs. If I want to buy a cheap portable computer for word processing I can get a net book for less than $250 dollars, but the cheapest portable Mac costs $1,000. If I want to get small desktop computer the cheapest Mac one is $699 and I can get a PC for under $250 dollars. If I want a full tower the cheapest PC is $300 where as the cheapest Mac is tower is $2,500 dollars. A dell laptop with similar, but slightly better hardware then a Macbook pro costs $2,169.99 the Macbook costs $3,149.00.For $849 dollars you can buy a pc with a processor that has a 25% higher clock speed than the fastest Mac.
PCs also have more variety. Windows allows several companies to make computers with windows. There are six main types of Macs, but thousands of PCs. You can get gaming PCs, cheap PCs, touch screen PCs, fast PCs, Laptop PCs with two screens and more. There is a PC with the same specifications as any Mac. You can even build you can even own PC and save money. Part of variety is components from a variety of sources. Since PCs gat parts from a variety of sources they are also more customizable the Origin Genesis can be ordered in about 57,692,017,857,581,062,884,748,689,408,000 or fifty seven nonillion different forms, a Mac Pro on the other hand can be ordered in only 331,776 or three hundred thirty one thousand different forms. The Mac can never be better than the PCs because Windows is open enough to let any company’s ideas be used not just the ideas of a few designers at Apple. Macs are drowning in a sea of PCs.
Thirdly PCs have more features. Blu-ray disk can hold over five times the amount a DVD can. PCs have been able to write on these for years, but Macs still don’t have them and show no signs of getting them. Macs just started using two mouse buttons in the last two years, the default setting however is to still just use one button. Hibernation mode save everything the computer is doing and then shuts it down so you can consume no power without having to close all your windows. Macs don’t have this technology yet despite the fact PCs have used it since 1995.
The six available Macs are designed for specific purposes, however you can always find a PC that has the same purpose, but is better than it. The Macbook is designed to be an inexpensive laptop it costs only $1,200, but I can by a dell computer with better statistics for only $570. The Macbook air is considered is designed for low weight and size, but the new Samsung series nine notebook is lighter, thinner, and has the same specifications, screen size, and resolution. The Macbook pro is designed for speed, and its specifications are impressive. It has a 2.3 GHz1 four-core2 Intel i7 processor5, a 1 gigabyte3 video card4, a 1 terabyte hard drive, a DVD read/write disk drive, and 8 gigabytes of RAM. The EON 17 on the other hand has a 3.46 GHz six-core Intel Xeon (Xeon is newer and more advanced than i7), two 2 gigabyte video cards, three 1 TB hard drives, a Blu-ray disk read/write and 24 gigabytes of RAM. The imac is an all in one (an all in one has the computer in the monitor) that is meant to give the user a simple, easy to use experience without many cables. The MSI AE2420 3D-046US gives users this with a touch screen for fewer cables and in 3-D screen for movies. The Mac mini is designed to be the smallest computer possible, but the AE2420 3D is smaller and lighter desktop pc then it. The Mac pro is the most powerful Mac with two six core 2.93 GHz processors, two 1 gigabyte graphics cards, 64 megabytes of RAM, and four hard drives. The Dell Precision is an amazingly fast computer, almost twice as fast as the Mac Pro; it has two six core 3.46 GHz processors, two 6 gigabyte graphics cards, 192 megabytes of RAM and five hard drives. The Origin Genesis has a four core 5.2 GHz processor, three 1.5 gigabyte graphics cards, 24 gigabytes of RAM and four hard drives. This makes it it extremely fast but so-so for multi-tasking.
Should computers really be chosen based on whether they are shiny, or is their president is a charismatic speaker? Should you really pay more for less power because of those things? Apple claims all their computers are revolutionary and years ahead of the competition, but in reality their $4,000 computer isn’t as powerful as a $900 PC. Apple is a shell of Hyperbole, shiny cases, and good advertising surround a shoddy, slow expensive product.

Re: Mac vs Windows?
I would include some citations to prove that what you are saying is true (although I trust that what is in your essay is accurate), for it proves that what you are saying is correct and biased only from making a decision based on facts. In addition, information from a reputable source that is cited works as the advertising technique of using a testimonial (I assume that you are supposed to be writing a persuasive essay.). Another thing is that the first "is" in the final paragraph should be removed along with the comma in that sentence, for the part after the comma isn't a complete sentence.quadratic wrote:actually Origin makes much faster computers than alienware.Archy Middle wrote:PC, but only for one reason, Mac beats PC in every way, interface, technology, except that PC has Alienware, and Alienwares make Macs look like PCs, in the eyes of Macs.

Re: Mac vs Windows?
How did I not see this thread before?!?
So here's my two cents on why I think macs are better
-NO Viruses! But hold on, I'll settle this issue once and for all. The way OSX is written it is not possible to have a virus, which is a self-infecting and self-duplicating bit of software, however it is possible to get other types of malware, such as Trojans, but in order to be infected the user has to either download or save a malicious program or file. So it IS possible to get infected, but as long as you know what you're doing it's unlikely
-Unification. The hardware is made by the same people who make the software, so it works in harmony and they don't undercut or overuse anything. Yes, I know there are some well made PC's out there, but you have to admit most of them aren't as half good as the best PC's
-Specs aren't everything. Sure you could buy or build a quad core 4ghz, 64gb ram, 8tb hdd or whatever and on paper it could be the fastest computer around, but a) Can the software support/ultize any of it? And b) For a majority of computer use will it really make a difference if the webpage opens in .5 or .6 seconds. I also would like to say that most of the time my 2006 2ghz MacBook is always faster than any of my friends brand new PC's running as high as 3ghz
-Litttle annoying details. OSX doesn't have any of them. For example on windows there are little pop-up alerts to tell me that my wifi signal strength has just gone form good to great, do you really think I care?!? From my experience Windows is full of these little 'problems', while I don't find any on a Mac
-Price. This is perhaps the biggest downfall for Macs. And I'll admit that paying $1500+ for a laptop seems like much, but is it really? If they didn't make $300-400 crap computers then Macs wouldn't seem so expensive, and to get a Good PC that will perform equally as well as a MacBook Pro you will almost certainly spend over $1000 or maybe even over $2000. So for something that you're probably going to be using for the next 5-10 years don't you think quality should be considered
-Innovation. Apple is known for it's use of new technology, other companies do this too, but Apple is known for making it stick in the market. Take USB for example, how many of you knew that Apple was the primary early adopter and that's largely why it is the most commonly used port today. Same as FireWire and Apple actually created it themselves. More recently with the intel i5 and i7 processors Apple was the first company to implement them. Now on a tangent when the iPhone was first released it was the very first big touchscreen style phone and the first to use the idea of a home screen with App icons. Now look at the market today, and tell me that a majority of the smart phones don't look like the iPhone in some way
-Aesthetics. This is what OSX and Macs are designed for. OSX is made to be easy to use, visually pleasing, and stress free. A good motto for Mac developing, "Hide any information the user doesn't need to see". Macs physically are designed to look sleek and dare I say sexy. I admit there are some very good looking PC's put there but nothing has come close to the glass and aluminum of a Mac(except the new MacBook, it's rather ugly in my opinion. That and the build quality is unsurpassed. When you hold a MacBook Pro at a corner with one hand it feels solid, no plastic bending or creaking. Also negative on PC's is the amount of logos stuck on it(partly because it is made by so many different companies), take the stickers on them, there is usually a "built for Windows 7", and a "Intel centrino(or something)" and usually a couple others. There are other things I want to say but this post is already long enough
I don't care if I changed your mind or not, but I grew up using original OS 9 desktop and using eMacs at school, so now I won't have anything other than a Mac
