Well, this isn't even unreasonable. It's not overreaching any of the systems. It's just studying more broadly. It could only work to one's benefit, providing they knew the material in the rules front-and-back.

And that's my point. You need to know the material in the rules front to back first. :P

Just got back from States, and I got 1st in Anatomy! The test I had had eight or nine stations in it each focusing on a specific topic. There were muscle that you would need to color on a diagram, a brief little story that you would need to diagnose with a disease, a large portion on how sarcomeres worked, pulmonary ventilation volumes, parts of a lung, how inspiration/expiration worked and things like external and internal respiration. The rest was very shallow in information that you needed to know, but it covered a large range. The only thing that they had on the test that wasn't specifically mentioned, but you guys said that I should probably know were the insertions and origins of a muscle.

That sounds like a good test, but I am surprised they didn't include origin and insertion.

Oh, wait, you're in B division... that makes sense, then. :D Well, congrats on the first place!

Congrats, Shunken! It sounds like the test was pretty well done. (i.e the proctor didn't say to heck with the rules).

/me restrains from calling up the UAH bio department and yelling at them. :| Ah well. Regionals was almost two months ago. I should really get over it. :P

The Division C test was really hard. My partner - also basically one of the most important people on our team - decided this Wednesday she couldn't come to states (nobody is blaming her, though). This is the event I was least prepared for... so I failed. Yeah.

Our test had a five stations on muscle ID, then listing the origin, insertion, and function. We had function on our cheat sheet, but had to guess on all of the origins and insertions because I hadn't really studied them. What I did study extra hard was the endocrine system, because it's the one I know the least... and it barely showed up. In general, the test had really specific, in-depth questions.

:? That's the #1 thing you should have on your cheat sheet...

Now that's unlucky. It kind of sucks when tests are unbalanced.

But otherwise, it sounds like a good test! Too bad your partner quit on you, though. That's always hard. How'd you do?

Haha. That's what I had on mine and I didn't even get to use it.

16th? Aww. I'm sorry, Chia! I hate it when tests aren't what you expect. *RANTING TIME*

I'm sure you'll medal next year. :)

Hey, we weren't able to stay for the awards ceremeony because our school needed our bus for some sports event.... Anatomy was the one test I cared about and I think I did decently well in. Does anyone from Illinois know who got top 3 places at state? I know they will eventually email our teachers, but mine currently is out of school for awhile for some family stuff, and I may not here for awhile. (I am from Macomb)

If you check the Illinois state website, it says results should be up this evening. I would say good luck, but I don't know if that's entirely the right thing to say in this situation.
