Re: Athletic Olympians?
hmmm, well, i guess my parents are that asian after all... i mean they dont actually send me to anything... they dont care much about my studying either, but when i dont do well(or by american standard, pretty good) they would either yell at me or (if they feel like it) lecture me for like hrspersonasaurus rex wrote:I consider my parents pretty hardcore Asian too when it comes to stuff like schoolwork and Science Olympiad, but they used to pay hundreds of dollars every summer to send me off to swim camp. They're actually pretty for me doing sports and stuff. I guess it differs with every situation.

Re: Athletic Olympians?
I played 4 years of Football, track, and two years of basketball. Some of the best science Olympiad people from my school have also were heavily involved in sports as well. Sometimes athletes can have better work ethic and seem more willing to put time into science Olympiad even though there schedule was busy all ready. For my school around half the team usually plays at least one sport.
Favorite Events: Experimental Design, Scrambler, Mousetrap Vehicle
Thanks Science Olympiad for the 6 Great Years!

Re: Athletic Olympians?
that's because it's track season. During xc season I want it to be track so bad and by the time track comes around I start missing the trails and the cold and the running with my iPod for 6 miles at a time...808girl wrote:Cross Country and Long Distance Track.

So true!!! I'm on Varsity swimming and JV water polo. I used to run track, but now I've converted to a life in the water.personasaurus rex wrote:swimming is beyond amazing. Wow, I didn't expect to see any swimmers on this forum. I swim too! I am a flyer, but I also like distance freestyle. Any other swimmers out there who have a favorite stroke?
