Re: Anatomy
flow of blood,
prob meaning in the heart
that is def one you should know and it's not that hard
once you know that you should basicly be able to tell where bllod goes and how it comes back in
it's basiclly one big cycle

Re: Anatomy
i wrote the path of blood flow in the heart on one of the wiki's for anatomy...not sure if it was B or C. its pretty basic, although the bicuspid valve may also be written as the mitral valve. besides that i want to note that anatomy is one of the best events, and i sure loved it. good luck to all of you.

Re: Anatomy
The flow of blood refers to labeling or drawing a diagram of the flow of blood through the body.
Then you also have to label the heart.
Then you also have to label the heart.

Re: Anatomy
THe easiest way to study is to ask your schools Biology teachers to give you some of their tests. Some companies make flash cards, clear cards that you can label on an overhead projector, and sheets crammed full of the info. if you have your partner quiz you, that can help. try and know a lot of the simple stuff, you'd be amazed how many of the anatomy questions i did were simply a photo and " what kind of cell is this?"

I'd rather die laughing than live crying.

Re: Anatomy
it means u have to learn about the cell stuff and the structure (gross anatomy) and the arteries, arterioles and so on are blood vesselsSciOlympiadGirl wrote:Ok I am new to this so here goes nothing.
I am in the circulatory system and came across the section that says
ii. Blood Vessels- the cellular and gross anatomy of arteries, aterioles, veins, venules, capillaries, and the name of major vessels in the body.
What's that supposed to mean?
and this year we have to learn about the major blood vessels in the body
good luck

Re: Anatomy
hey "doctor", i have a question.
can i borrow ur usmle textbook? this event is driving me insane!
oh, and i also have a tip for everyone just starting this event that needs to memorize the bones, get someone with a pen and too much free time to help u label all of your bones. people will look at you funny, but thats part of life. (oh, and only label the bones NOT covered by clothing, k?)
oh, and edward cullen is SO much better than jacob black.

Re: Anatomy
wikipedia is a good starting point but double check info u get ormellolover wrote:How do you study for anatomy?
by reading alot of text books that are college level
but u should start w/ basics first
be sure to memorize details too b/c we're not allowed to have any resources
personally i think skeletel system is easier than circulatory system so i'll start w/ harder stuff
there are many websites on google like webmd.com for diseases and stuff but make sure u use .edu or .gov or something
also if ur parents or someone is a doctor or something ask them to help u b/c my dad really helped me w/ preparing for nationals
anatomy is hard and u can seriously get ur doctorate after states or something b/c that's how hard it's going to be
idk if u were here last year but anything that is bold is new stuff that they added
does anyone know what to study when it says effects of exercise? any good resources? and what does it mean when u have to know diseases from the cell to the whole body? does that mean u have to know how disease effect cells too?

and absolutely DO NOT cram at the last minute
