Why is everyone so upset about Fermi? I, for one, am extremely happy to have it return. Seriously, it isn't a bad event - it's just about having good conceptual and estimating skills. While yes, it maybe be a lot of BSing, but isn't that what many events are?
2010: 5th in NYS
2011: 4th in NYS
2012: 3rd in NYS

Sorry that was a very vague sigh. I personally am apathetic towards the arrival of the event because i won't be doing it. I have nothing bad to say about it nor anything good. However, it will bring about a lot of issues for students and proctors, and i just feel that could turn into a mess at many tournaments. However, there are already many events where this happens, and we just have to accept unpredictability as a part of scioly :D Fermi is just a tad bit more so unpredictable.

I don't like things to be unpredictable. *sigh* That's why I'm retiring from Write It Do It. But Fermi sounds interesting. I am a good logical/conceptual thinker.
/me goes to read more about the event

As I posted elsewhere, Fermi is NOT in the same category as Mission Possible, so you shouldn't consider it to be replacing the other. Tentatively, Mission (C) is being replaced with Robot Arm (C).

Robot Arm sounds cool. I'm definitely up for it!

That's really a shame. We've found that it usually takes three or more years for a team to really master an event, and thus to have the best competition.

Robot arm looks cool, at least.

I know I am just being lazy by not looking it up myself, but would someone mind explaining what Fermi and Robot Arm are?
