i totally tried that for 2 meets and i think nothing is better than a squared base, i mean everything is like fine its just that it takes too many bracing pieces to stay balanced

Well, I would definitely not try a triangular tower. It is very hard to build, and in my experience does not get a better efficiency. Although triangular weigh less, they usually break sooner.
