This is my first year doing Science Olympiad and I had regionals at Oswego. They let us use 2 computers and we used open office. Does this happen at state or is this just a strange regional thing??? :?:

That is probably just a strange regional thing (which shouldn't happen). If they let you use two computers at State, something is very wrong.

This whole situation goes back to one of my own unspoken laws of scioly- know the rules better than the event supervisor. If they allow you to do something that the rules disallow, don't do it.

Just wondering, is Google Docs very different from Microsoft Word 2003?

Very. It throws formating to the wind. You would be better off using Wordpad.

All right, thank you! I was hoping it wouldn't be different... but I can't change that.

Actually, now that I think about it, it might be better than Windows XP's Wordpad, but Windows Vista's or Seven's is certainly better. In comparison to Office 2003, there is no contest.
