They will measure from the fixed point on your vehicle

I need some help with this... Where can I get a small solenoid for my not-yet-maid battery buggy?

You may be able to get them from Radio Shack or another local electronics store.
If not you may have to order them online as they might be a speciality item

Teehee! This is the first time I'm building anything like this, and we're (my family) confused. The Tamiya gearbox we are using is the No. 103 ITEM 70103**660 Universal Gearbox & Motor. This is a "build-me" kit and before it can be built, we need to decide on making it high, medium, or low power. The batteries equal 6v total and we don't want to burn out the motor or not having enough speed.
Any help possible would be great!

Ok so from what I have found about the motor in the gearbox the max voltage that they recommend is 3V. So your 6V would most likely cause the motor to burn out

Transistors are for lowering voltage right? Think we're using them. We put it on medium power because the high would probably make it go boom and low would be really slow and the team I'm on wants the time bonus. Invitationals are coming up the weekend after this, so we might not be able to take the buggy, though my awesome coach says we'll try! Who's coming the the Winnetka Invitationals? Can't wait!

Do any of you know a great way to test your vehicle?
Should we make a chart?
How do you determine the arc?

Best way to test is to just keep running the vehicle for a distance till you get enough data to make it acurate.
I think charts are helpful for organization
